Privacy Policy
Last updated October 6, 2026
The short version
- We collect only what’s needed to run Maps Business Scraper: your account email, sign-in details, purchase records, and the lead lists you choose to collect.
- The browser extension only works on Google Maps search pages you run it on, and on our own website to sign you in. It doesn’t read your browsing history or other websites.
- We don’t sell your information, show ads, or use tracking or analytics cookies.
- You can download your lists and delete your account at any time.
This policy explains how Maps Business Scraper (“we”, “us”) handles information when you use our website at mapsext.vercel.app and the Maps Business Scraper browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge (together, the “Service”).
1. Information we collect
Account information (personally identifiable information)
Your email address and password when you sign up. Passwords are stored only as a secure one-way hash; we never see or store the password itself.
Authentication information
When you sign in on the website we set a session cookie. When you connect the extension we issue it a sign-in token, which the extension keeps in your browser’s local extension storage. We store only a hashed copy of that token on our servers, along with the browser type (for example “Google Chrome”) and when it was last used, so you can see and sign out connected browsers.
Payment information (handled by Stripe)
Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive a record of each purchase (amount, date and a Stripe reference) but never your card number or bank details. Stripe’s use of your payment information is covered by Stripe’s privacy policy.
Website content: the lead lists you collect
When you start a run, the extension reads the business listings shown in your Google Maps search results: business name, category, address, phone number, website, rating, review count, hours and map location. If you choose emails or social profiles, our servers visit those businesses’ own public websites to find publicly listed email addresses and social media profile links. These lists are saved to your account so you can view and download them again. Some of this information may relate to identifiable people, such as a sole proprietor’s name or email.
Support messages
If you contact us, we keep your name, email, and message so we can reply and keep a record of the conversation.
Security and usage information
Our servers record technical information such as IP address, browser type, and the time of requests. We use it to keep accounts secure, limit abuse (for example blocking repeated failed logins), and fix problems.
2. What the browser extension does and doesn’t do
It accesses: Google Maps pages (https://www.google.com/maps/*), only to read search results after you press Start or run a batch you set up; and our own website (mapsext.vercel.app), to sign you in, check your credit balance, save the leads you collect, and retrieve emails and social profiles for them.
It stores locally in your browser: your sign-in token, your settings (lead type, filters, export columns), the leads from your current session so you can export them, and batch progress. Clearing leads in the extension or signing out removes this data from the browser.
It never: reads your browsing history or other websites, records keystrokes or clicks, reads your messages or email, collects your location, shows ads, uses analytics or tracking scripts, sells data, or runs code downloaded from the internet.
3. How we use information
To provide the Service: create and secure your account, collect and save your lead lists, find emails and social profiles you’ve paid for, charge and refund credits, send account emails (email confirmation, password resets), answer support requests, prevent fraud and abuse, and keep the Service working and improving. We don’t use your information for advertising, and we don’t use your lead lists for anything other than providing them to you.
4. Chrome Web Store Limited Use
Maps Business Scraper’s use of information received through its browser extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Specifically: we use that information only to provide and improve the extension’s single purpose, collecting Google Maps business listings and exporting them with optional emails and social profiles; we don’t sell it; we don’t use or transfer it for advertising, for purposes unrelated to that purpose, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending; and people at Maps Business Scraper don’t read it except with your permission, for security purposes, or to comply with the law.
5. Who we share information with
We share information only with service providers that run parts of the Service for us, and only so they can do that work:
| Provider | What they do |
|---|---|
| Vercel | Hosts the website and servers |
| Neon | Database that stores accounts and lead lists |
| Stripe | Processes payments and refunds |
| Resend | Sends account and support emails |
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public, or as part of a merger or sale of the business (in which case this policy would continue to apply). We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
6. Information about businesses in lead lists
Lead lists contain information that businesses publicly list on Google Maps and on their own websites. You decide what to collect and how to use it, and you’re responsible for using it lawfully (see our Terms). If you’re a business owner and want information about you removed from our systems, email info@safesky.digital and we’ll delete it.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your account and lead lists until you delete your account. Support messages are kept for up to 2 years. Security logs are kept for a short period (generally under 90 days). Purchase records may be kept longer where tax, accounting or anti-fraud law requires.
8. Security
All connections are encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords and extension tokens are stored hashed. Extension tokens can be revoked per browser and expire after 90 days of inactivity. Access to production systems is restricted, and we limit repeated sign-in attempts. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you of a breach affecting it as required by law.
9. Your rights and choices
You can view and download your lead lists from your dashboard, sign browsers out from the Extension page, and permanently delete your account and lists from Settings. You can also email info@safesky.digital to access, correct, export, or delete your information. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK, or California), you may have additional rights, such as objecting to certain processing or appealing a decision we make about your request. We won’t treat you differently for using these rights. We’ll respond within the time the law requires, usually 30 days.
10. Cookies
We use only essential cookies that keep you signed in and protect your account. We don’t use advertising or analytics cookies.
11. Children
The Service is for businesses and isn’t directed to anyone under 18. We don’t knowingly collect information from children; if you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
12. International users
We’re based in the United States and our providers process information in the United States. By using the Service from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed there.
13. Changes to this policy
If we make significant changes we’ll update the date above and let you know by email or in the app before they take effect.
14. Contact
